Leading ICT accessibility research and innovation programs

Dr. Achraf is a researcher and ICT Expert with a successful record of accomplishment and experiences in many universities and international organizations by using information and communication technology (ICTs), with a great deal of dedication and vision. Now, he is a Senior Research Specialist on Assistive Technology and Accessibility at Mada Assistive Technology Center in Doha, Qatar. Previously, he was an ICT Expert Specialist at Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organisation ALECSO. According to his education background, he was a member in many projects to make information more accessible to people with disabilities especially with Deaf communities. And also, he worked on big project called AlecsoApps to promote Arabic e-Content and Arabic Mobile Content.In his Phd, he designed a new model to translate English written text to American Sign Language based on Gloss Annotation System through a statistical machine translation using parallel corpora and machine learning.He was a member of translation team to translate WCAG2.0 guidelines of W3C from English to Arabic. He has written many scientific articles and papers for many recognized and specialized conferences on ICT and accessibility.
