رئيس قسم طب الأطفال السلوكي التنموي - عيادة طب الأطفال السلوكي التنموي – مركز السدرة للطب والبحوث

الدكتورة جانجوا مسؤولة عن قيادة فريق متعدد التخصصات مهمته تقييم وتشخيص والتدخل والتعامل مع الأطفال الذين يعانون صعوبات سلوكية ونمائية وأسرهم.
وعملت قبل انضمامها إلى مركز السدرة للطب والبحوث كمستشارة أولى في علاجات الإعاقات العصبية للأطفال في مركز تنمية الطفل بمستشفى أدينبروكس التعليمي بجامعة كامبريدج في إنجلترا. كما عملت كمستشارة بهيئة الخدمات الصحية الوطنية بالمملكة المتحدة لأكثر من 20 عامًا، كما عملت كمدير إكلينيكي لقسم طب أطفال المجتمعات ومركز تنمية الطفل في بيدفورد بإنجلترا.

حصلت الدكتورة جانجوا على درجة الماجستير في كلية الطب بجامعة بورتو في البرتغال، وأتمت ست سنوات من التدريب التخصصي في طب الأطفال، وعامين من التدريب في مجال الإعاقة العصبية في مستشفى طب الأطفال الجامعي في بورتو. وتشمل دراساتها العليا وأبحاثها ماجستير العلوم في طب السمع من جامعة مانشستر بالمملكة المتحدة، حيث تناولت أطروحتها موضوع “حالة حدوث ونوع فقدان السمع لدى الأطفال المصابين بداء عديدات السكاريد المخاطية.”
كما أنهت شهادة الدكتوراه في مجال طب الأطفال من جامعة بريستول بالمملكة المتحدة؛ حيث تناولت رسالتها لنيل درجة الدكتوراه موضوع “التطور اللغوي والإدراكي لدى الأطفال شديدي الصمم”. الدكتورة جانجوا طبيب ممارس معتمد ومسجل لدى المجلس الطبي العام البريطاني. كما أنها مسجلة ومرخصة من قبل المجلس القطري لممارسي تخصصات الرعاية الصحية. وهي زميلة في الكلية الملكية لطب الأطفال وصحة الطفل في المملكة المتحدة.

Division Chief of the Division of Developmental Pediatrics

Dr Maria de Fatima Janjua is the Division Chief for the Division of Developmental Pediatrics at Sidra Medical and Research Center. She was appointed to the role in June 2017.
At Sidra, she is responsible for leading a multidisciplinary team who provides assessment, diagnosis and intervention to children with the whole range of developmental and behavioral difficulties and their families.
Prior to joining Sidra, Dr Janjua worked as a Senior Consultant in Pediatric Neurodisability at Child Development Center at Addenbrookes Teaching Hospital, Cambridge University, England. She has been a Consultant in the British National Health Service (NHS) for over 20 years. During this time, she has planned, organized and implemented several programs which vastly improved the provision of services for children with special needs in the area. She also has 5 years’ experience as Clinical Director for the Department of Community Pediatrics and Child Development Center in Bedford, England.
Dr Janjua obtained her Medical Degree in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Porto, Portugal. She completed 6 years of Specialist Pediatric Training and 2 years of Neurodisability training at a tertiary Pediatric Hospital in Porto.
Dr Janjua’s postgraduate studies and research include a Master of Science in Audiological Medicine from Manchester University, UK, where she learned the theory and practice of assessing hearing in young children investigate causes of deafness and deliver intervention programs. Her thesis studied the “Incidence and type of hearing loss in children with Mucopolysaccharidosis”.
She also completed a PhD in Pediatrics from Bristol University, UK during which she studied “Language and Cognitive development in very young severe and profound deaf children”
Dr Janjua is a certified medical practitioner and on the specialist register of the General Medical Council, UK. She is also registered and licensed by the Qatar Council for Healthcare Practitioners.
She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health in the UK.
