His research areas include serious games, human-computer interaction, child-computer interaction and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). He got his doctoral degree in Computer Science (Human-Computer Interaction) from the University of Malaya (UM) Malaysia in 2017, MSc in Computer Science in 2006 from Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) Thailand, and MCS and BCS from Isra University, Pakistan in 2004 and 2001 respectively. His experience spans over 15 years, working in his country or in global projects (UK, USA, Malaysia and Qatar). Before joining HBKU in Qatar to conduct research in the areas of serious games and human-computer interaction (HCI), he was working as an Associate Professor at Isra University. He is also associated with the University of Liverpool Online since 2009 as an Honorary Lecturer and Dissertation Advisor. Kamran has given guest lectures on the evaluation methods in human-computer interaction (HCI) and their customization for specialized domains. He was presenting his achievements at Serious Games Conference 2014 and 2015, along with other international conferences.
